Bauer Welcomes Toews

Bauer Hockey, Inc. today announced that Chicago Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews has joined the company's roster of athletes, becoming the latest elite player to ink an official endorsement deal with the world's leading designer and manufacturer of hockey equipment. Toews, who signed a five-year deal with the company, will exclusively wear Bauer equipment during the 2010-2011 NHL season and will work closely with Bauer's product development team to provide insight and feedback into future product direction.

Toews led the Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup in 49 years and earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player in the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The captain registered 25 goals and 43 assists in last year's championship season and led all Blackhawks with seven goals and 22 assists for 29 points in 22 playoff games. In addition to guiding the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup, the 22-year-old Canadian earned an Olympic gold medal in February, becoming the youngest player in history to win a Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold and a World Championship.

"I've worn Bauer my entire life and its exciting to officially sign an endorsement deal with a company that truly is the first name in hockey," Toews said. "I look forward to wearing the best equipment in the game and providing Bauer with feedback and insight to help make those products even better in the future."

In addition to providing valuable insight into Bauer's product development team, Toews will be featured in Bauer Hockey's global marketing efforts. Toews joins friend and teammate Patrick Kane on the Bauer roster and both are expected to play significant roles in the company's upcoming marketing campaigns. Other members of the Bauer roster include Steven Stamkos, Mike Richards, Nicklas Backstrom, Eric Staal, Henrik Lundqvist, and standout rookie Tyler Seguin, to name just a few.

"Toews has accomplished great things in just a few years of professional hockey and we welcome him to the Bauer family," said Steve Jones, Director, Global Marketing, Bauer Hockey. "He is a dynamic player that posses a lot of the same values we have as a company. He resonates strongly with our core consumer in both the United States and Canada, and the ability to utilize both Toews and Kane together in our overall marketing mix creates a very unique and creative opportunity for Bauer Hockey."

Cool news. I just had to post this though....

When is Bauer going to make the gloves with leather/syntheic leather again? I always bought all bauer especially when they were the gear the CHL wore. I still buy a few bauer products like the sticks, but I stopped buying the gloves because I hate that cheap material. I want the leather like material again. Bauer used to make the best gloves.

Hi guys, I bought a Bauer RBE III cage 3 weeks ago and it has already rusted out. I dry my equipment everyday so why has this happened?? I love Bauer, but I want a new cage due to the full rust on the cage.

Thanks

My son is a huge Bauer Fan. He is a goalie and had to have the Bauer Vapor pads, helmet, glove and blocker etc. all of which he helped pay for. When it came time for a stick he bought a vapor x50. The next day at Hockey Camp it broke. I brought it back to the store and was told I needed to contact Bauer directly. We were leaving on a month long vacation that day with no email access and came home to a death in the family. needless to say the stick in the garage was forgotten until his first hockey practice. I contacted Bauer and hoped they would have some compassion and because you could tell the stick was never used they might see it to at least return part of the money to my son. I was told the warranty was only for 30 days and his stick was puchesed 70 days ago-they could not help. There were no exceptions. I am disappointed in the service and attitude of the company.

Hi guys,
2 questions:
First Can you give me the aprox release date for the next generation of Bauer X60 skates.

Second I was wondering why the Bauer pro stock visor 55p is only available for pro. I was able to get 2 of them for my helmets throught some team's contact but was curious to know why there are not for sell in the stores.

Thank you for your answers and best Regards
