July 16, 2008 4:49 PM | Filed under: Company News

Nike Bauer Hockey recently sat down with Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas. Thomas is coming off one of his best seasons with the B's after going 28-19. He recorded career bests in Goals Against Average at 2.44 and save percentage at .921. The .921 save percentage was good for fourth overall in the league. He was selected to his first All-Star game and picked up the win for the Eastern Conference down in Atlanta.

Thomas and the B's made the playoffs last year and pushed the top seeded Canadians to a series deciding Game 7. It was an experience that Thomas certainly learned from and hopes that he and his teammates will be able to go even further next year. Check out this video and let us know your thoughts. Hope you enjoy it.

Naslund Headed to NYR

July 3, 2008 5:44 PM | Filed under: Company News

NBH would like to congratulate Markus Naslund on his new deal with the New York Rangers. Naslund, who spent the last 12 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, signed a 2 year contract to join the Rangers.

In a conference call with the media, Naslund spoke about the opportunity to join such a storied organization. "I think for anyone who dreams of playing in the NHL, playing for one of the Original Six teams with the history and tradition, it's special," Naslund said.

Despite being excited about his new team and opportunity, Naslund addressed the fact that it was a hard decision to leave the club that he called home for so long. "It's not an easy thing, I've been in Vancouver a long time. I've been a captain there for the last eight years. I have very fond memories of playing in that city and all that comes with that. The fan base that's there, the organization has treated me first-class all the way. It's definitely a big step but it's a step that I'm excited to take."

Naslund leaves the Canucks as the all-time goals leader with 346 and as the scoring leader with 735. His leadership and scoring ability will certaily be a great addition to a Rangers squad that ranked 25th in the league last season. Once again, congrats to Marcus on his new deal. We're certainly excited to see him hit the big stage in New York City.

July 1, 2008 4:38 PM | Filed under: Company News

On Tuesday, Erik Cole was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. On a conference call with the media he addressed his feelings about the trade and what he is looking forward to for the upcoming year.

"I'm extremely excited to be joining not just a great franchise, but a great hockey market with a tremendous amount of fan support. I'm anxious to turn the page in my career and start something fresh and have alot of fun this upcoming season."

"I'm excited to have an opportunity to join this franchise, obviously, it's a very historic franchise and one that i'm going to be very proud to put on the sweater."

Even though he admitted that it would be hard to say goodbye to friends and teammates, Cole could not stress enough how excited he was to be joining the Oilers organization. "I'm starting over in a new city with an excellent franchise, with a great young roster and the opportunity to be a great team for many years to come in this league, so I'm excited about the opportunity. I'm excited to play for a Candian team and a great hockey market."

Erik will be looking to help lead the Oilers back to the playoffs, a place they haven't been since losing to him and the 'Canes in the Cup finals in 2006.
