Nike's added value to the skate line will be missed, but I don't see their contributions on the rest of the line. It is a shame that when Nike bought Bauer, they eliminated a lot of the other brands/lines.

It was always a matter of sales/marketing plans, which were never quite in sync with market realities. The Bauer name will come back and challenge Reebok.

Back in 1997 I started to use Nike hockey equipment. My first piece of equipment was a Nike aluminum stick and then the zoom air skates. Everyone thing I wear is Nike, head to toe. To hear that Nike is leaving the hockey business is very hurtful to hear, but I hope Bauer comes back to keep the tradition going. i don't see why Nike is leaving, more and more NHL players are wearing Nike Bauer equipment. Nike will be missed in the hockey business

I love Nike Bauer products. I wear it from head to toe. Just one thing though. Why would you sell a skate at $800? Not many people have the money for that. You're pricing yourself right out of the market. Sad to see Nike leave as it is my favourite product. Thanks!

My heartfelt thanks to everyone associated with the design, manufacture and quality control of the nike bauer helmet model NBH5500! My 12 year old son was hit from behind and went head first into the boards while wearing this helmet. He was incredibly fortunate and was not injured (although we did make a trip to the hospital by ambuance). I realize it was not simply the helmet that saved him from a potentially terrible injury, but it did its job. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We are customers for life.

To Whom it may Concern:

Re: Stick Replacement for a OnePro Composite

Hi my name is Michele Edwards, I am a parent and wife of hockey players, and therefore, a consumer of hockey equipment. That is as far as I can go with knowledge of hockey equipment, except for the following facts that I am going to list below.

1. I am very unhappy in the hockey consumer world.

2. I tried to go to your website to initiate the following return of my son's stick, but the model is not listed under the options so I did not go further and decided to email you instead.

3. My son purchased a OnePro Composite stick (right) on September 17, 2007, for $119.99 plus tax and then he owned it for exactly 45 days, and he used it approximately 22 times, and then it BROKE.

Now, I know we are out of warranty on that stick, but then on the 46th day he purchased another OnePro Composite stick (right) on November 1, 2007, for $119.99 plus tax and he owned it for exactly 9 days, and he used it approximately 5 times, and let me let you guess what happened to the stick - You're Right - IT BROKE.

Now my son is 18 years old, and he has been playing hockey since he was 6 (yes he did get a late start), but none the less - we have been purchasing hockey equipment for 12 years. This year alone, besides the 2 stick purchases above - we spent $532.91 with tax on new skates, we have purchased miscellaneous items, i.e., tape, sharpenings, new mouth guard, etc. - all since SEPTEMBER. I Don't Mind - I Love the Sport! What I do mind is waisting money (WHICH APPARENTLY I DID IN PURCHASING ONE OF YOUR COMPOSITE STICKS). We have, as you can guess, purchased many, many hockey sticks in our day - my husband is 48 and still plays hockey on a men's league (he also has played since small childhood), but never, ever had we had sticks break like this.

I was aggravated after the first break, because we were 15 days out of warranty, NOW I AM ANGRY, because it seems to be an issue on your part. We've owned wood that last 3 times longer than this.

Please get me any information that I need to continue with this return. Sorry, if the stick model had been listed on the website, you would not have had to read all this.

Unhappy Customer,

Reply from Customer Service at nbh@nikebauer.com short version: Sorry - hockey is a contact sport - my thought and the thought of many, I have told: YOUR KIDDING - I NEVER REALIZED THAT WAS WHAT I WAS WATCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, i really think that ways it there in the comment by Kim, sure NikeBauer equipment may be a bit more expensive than some other brands, but you really get what you pay for. I have the same helmet and I love it. Its extremely comftorable and it adjusts easily. I am a long time supporter of NikeBauer and can't wait to see the launch of the new Vapour XXXX gloves, i saw pictures of them on St.Louis and im going to order myself a pair of them as soon as they become available.

Clearly you don't understand how to return a nike Bauer stick. You can simply go to the store where you bought it and you will recieve a slip of paper which you fill out. Then you must send the recipt the slip of paper and the stick to nike bauer (the adresse will be on the slip of paper). Soon you will recieve your new nike bauer stick from FedEx or some company like that.

Hopefully you will get a new stick soon. I hope this info was helpful.

Hello,

I just wanted to pass along my sincere thanks for the type of quality equipment you provide, especially in regards to the protective gear. Earlier this month I was hit forcefully from behind in a men’s recreational league (no-check) that left me with a concussion and right knee injury. I was brought to a local hospital’s ER and placed in the trauma unit with what was initially believed to be life threatening injuries. I was fortunate enough to go home the next day. I’m no giant, but am in good athletic shape and have played the game for years and am a decent skater with some size (5’11”, 220). I mention this simply to illustrate the force of the hit. I have no doubt in my mind that my helmet saved my life. Had I been using my older JOFA helmet, I have no doubt that my head injuries would have been fatal. Instead, despite receiving a Grade I/II concussion, my headaches were gone within 5-6 hours of the incident.

I have always been a fan of Bauer’s equipment because of the equipment’s quality and value. Normally, the sticks/skates have been what I have “tested”/stressed the most in terms of wear and tear. I never thought my helmet would play as important a role as it did earlier this month. Both my family and I thank you for your continued efforts to protect those who play our tremendous sport.

To those who play ice hockey (or have family that plays) – my advice would be to make sure your helmet is not outdated. Some of my buddies still wear their high school/college helmets. I have since advised them to upgrade. It’s worth the money. Hopefully no one ever needs to rely upon their helmet to save them from a life threatening injury….BUT if you do, you want to be confident that it will protect you. My Bauer 5500 did the job.

Sincerely,
Ken N

I am 15 and i play with 17 year olds at the AAA Level so I recently decided to buy the one 90 gloves and i love them, i also bought the XXXX skate and immidiatly felt a difference in my skating, the only downside is that i know have sists on the back of my heels from the skate, and i have to see a physiotherapist about them and i have had to take a few games off. I have people that come and watch my games and i miss out when they are there watching for me, but im not playing. Is there something i can do something you may have found that i can do to fix this? Thnkyou in advance.

I've been a goalie for about 12 years. My skates are size 15 which limits my selection of skates to player skates because it's nearly impossible to find goalie skates. It really wasn't a big deal because I enjoyed playing hockey soo much. Two weeks ago I took a puck of the side of my skate and had a minor injury (thank god). Do you guys make a size 15 goalie skate? If so how would I go about ordering one and at what cost? Thank you very much for your assistance on this matter.

Moe, go to your local hockey store. You can custom order Nike/Bauer skates just like the pros! If they can't/won't, I suggest you find a better shop.

I have owned a pair of Nike Bauer Supreme One 75 Skates for about 3 months now. The paint is chipping off in the inner toes on both skates and is spreading, so is the outside of the skate. Is this a manufacturing defect? Should I exchange these skates in for a new pair?

I use nike-bauer gear exclusivly, I'm and old timer. I bought a pair of vapor XXV skates a year ago, I've worn them 10 times. there is a big piece of something where the boot mates to the toe cup and it digs into my foot. I thought I just had to wear them in but it got so bad that i went to my local pro shop and showed them, they said it was a defect. I tried another exact ppair that they had and it felt perfect. Is there any chance to swap these hardly used XXV skates for a new pair.

Hi just recently managed to get my hands on a pair of Classic Nike Zoom Air ice hockey skates in the white colour. Just wondering if Nike would consider bringing out a new range of the zoom air series in the future. I know I would definatley buy a pair or two if they were as individual and stunning as the classic zoom air models.
Does anyone else miss the classic zoom air hockey skates?
Cheers!

I am very unhappy with Bauer customer service. I have a stick (XXV) that was only used a few times and the blade cracked. Since I have passed the 30 day warranty they don't want to make any effort to help me out. They responded quickly denying to help me but now after a couple of times of me asking to escalate this to a higher person they have stopped responding to my emails.

I spent $90 on a stick at the end of a season. The beginning of the next season it breaks. The stick was not abused at all.

I understand their policy but I think they should consider making exceptions once in a while.

After years of buying Bauer equipment this is the first time I ever had a problem with quality and the first time using customer service. After this experience I am done. I will never buy another piece of Bauer equipment and will tell others about this.

They don't seem to care about me, the customer, so I am done supporting them
